Algeria called on France to return archives of Ottoman era

Algeria President Abdelmagid Tebbung called France to return the archives of the Ottoman era, taken from Algeria during the colonial period. It is reported by TRT telegrams TRT in Russian.

North African Country for centuries was part of the Ottoman Empire. The French rule in the region began in 1830 since the invasion of Algeria and lasted to the end of the Algerian War for independence in 1962. During the war years, 1.5 million people died.

Algeria loored during the colonial period now requires to return the archive of the Ottoman era exported from the country, which is an integral part of the state’s memory, President Algeria Tebbun said.
