Algeria refused France in its airspace for interfering in Niger

Algeria refused to provide its airspace for a military operation to conduct a military operation in Niger. This was reported by Algerian state radio.

Algeria always opposed the use of force, and his position on the military coup in Niger was clear and unambiguous, the news said.

It is noted that, faced with Algeria’s refusal, Paris made the same request to Morocco.

It is argued that the Morocco authorities allegedly decided to open airspace with French combat aircraft for military intervention in Niger.

Earlier, Algeria protested regarding the possible military intervention of the economic community of West African states (Ekovas) in Niger.

At a meeting of the chiefs of staff of the Ekovas countries in Gan, it was announced to determine the date to start military intervention in Niger.

Ekovas said that the military is ready to conduct an operation in Niger as soon as the order was received, but did not share the information when this operation begins.

President Niger Mohammed Bazum was detained by the units of the presidential guard on July 26. That same evening, the military announced the seizure of power in the country.

On July 28, General Abdurakhman Tchiani spoke on behalf of the military and declared himself the chairman of the National Council of Salvation Niger.
