Aliyev: Azerbaijan is actively working with partners, including Bulgaria, according to cable of green energy

Azerbaijan is very active in working with partners, including with Bulgaria in the cable of green energy.

This was said by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in a statement for the press with President of Bulgaria, Roumen Radev.

He noted that the technical and economic justification, which will be ready in a few months, will be the excellent basic for starting work.

“Thus, Azerbaijan will manifest itself as a supplier to Europe not only oil and gas, but also green energy. The potential is quite wide, and we will also talk about this at the SOR29 conference at the end of the year,” the head of state emphasized.

Aliyev said that thanks to Azerbaijani investment a few days ago, the modernization of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was completely completed.

According to him, the throughput of this railway has increased several times.

“This project, initiated at one time, Azerbaijan, thanks to the possibilities expanding today, will play an important role as a significant segment of the median corridor. Transportation of even greater goods of goods along the east -west corridor and will further strengthen our relationship,” the president said .

The head of state drew attention to the fact that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria has recently grew several times.

Aliyev noted that the main reason for this is cooperation in the energy sector, adding that its current level and prospects are also very positive.

The president also indicated that the export of Azerbaijani gas to Bulgaria is growing from year to year.

“Last year, 1 billion 250 million cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas were transported to the Bulgarian market. For comparison, I can say that in 2022 this figure was only 600 million,” the head of state noted.

In turn, the Bulgarian leader noted that Bulgaria and Azerbaijan are connected by the bonds of traditional friendship, mutual understanding and mutual trust.

“Our political dialogue, which is at the highest level, creates a good basis for the economic prosperity of not only our countries, but also the Caucasus and the Black Sea basin and contributes to the energy security of Europe,” said

According to him, Azerbaijan has become an important, decisive partner in the energy sector for Bulgaria and plays an important role in the diversification of the gas supply of our country.

“In the fall of 2022, with the participation of President Aliyev in the city of Sofia, we began using a gas network between Greece and Bulgaria and, thus, the southern gas corridor connected to Central and Eastern Europe,” the head of the Bulgarian state added.
