Aliyev: Yerevan’s allegations that Lachin road is blocked are lie

President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier called Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev.

This is stated in the message posted on the official website of the head of the Azerbaijani state.

During the conversation, the presidents expressed satisfaction with the current state of Azerbaijani-German ties and discussed the prospects for cooperation.

Touching on regional security issues, Steinmeier emphasized that Germany supports the tripartite format of the European Union – Azerbaijan – Armenia with the direct participation of the President of the Council of the European Union Charles Michel.

In turn, Aliyev emphasized that he highly appreciates tripartite negotiations conducted with the support of the President of the Council of the European Union, expressed Azerbaijan’s commitment to the process of discussion as part of the EU -Azerbaijani Tripartite format – Armenia.

Also, during a telephone conversation, the situation was discussed on the Hangkendi -Lachin road in Azerbaijan.

The President of Azerbaijan noted that Armenia’s allegations that the road is allegedly blocked is a lie, there is free movement along the road of humanitarian goods along the line of the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as other humanitarian goods.

During the conversation, the presidents, once again praising the prospects of Azerbaijani-German cooperation, noted the importance of applying joint efforts for the development of ties.
