Ambassador Mustafaev: A Pekress threatens friendly relations between Azerbaijan and France

“Applications of the presidential candidate France Valerie Pekress about the alleged” threats of death “and its constant attacks on Azerbaijan are unacceptable. She is trying to hide under this statement the illegality of a trip to the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.” This is stated in the statement of Ambassador Azerbaijan in France Rakhman Mustafaeva.

According to him, the election campaign cannot let Valerie Pekress, President of the Il de France region, avoid compliance with the Azerbaijani legislation, international, European and bilateral obligations of France and national legislation of France.

“The pecker knows perfectly about the illegality of his trip to the city of Hankendi Khojaly district of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The alleged pro-European candidate should know that the European Union prohibits any actions undermining or threatening independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries,” the ambassador said.

he also noted that in addition to numerous other violations of legislation, both Azerbaijan, France and international structures, which follow from its illegal visit, such actions also contradict the contract on friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation between Azerbaijan and France.

“Ms. Pekress’s disregard attitude to the above principles underlying the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, is unbearable and should stop. An attempt to attract voters can not only jeopardize old friendly relations with Azerbaijan, built on the principles of international law, but also undermine the stability and development of the Caucasus region, “said Mustafaev.
