Experts of the University of Yale prepared a report on the results of a study in which the authors assure that in the Ukrainian territories controlled by Moscow they managed to find 21 “filtration camp”, where they illegally hold Ukrainians.
The report that Reuters writes about is based on open data and satellite photos. It refers to impromptu prisons for passing “filtering”, rings are equipped in buildings of schools, markets and ordinary prisons.
According to the head of the project, Nathaniely Raymond, the study confirmed the creation of the Filtering System, which is an “emergency situation in the field of human rights.”
The State Department on Thursday called on Russia to stop “filtering” and illegal deportation of Ukrainians.
Note that in July the newspaper The New York Times, citing the deputy head of the US mission under the OSCE Courtney OSRAST, wrote that the United States discovered at least 18 Russian filtration camps created to detain and forcibly deportation of Ukrainians to Russia.
