Employees of the Main Customs Administration in air transport prevented an attempted smuggling importation into the territory of the country of the major batch of diamonds, HAQQIN.AZ was told in the press service of the State Committee.
According to information, when inspection at the international airport, Heydar Aliyev, a citizen of the Azerbaijan Republic, who flew the flight Istanbul-Baku, suspicious objects were noticed on the monitor of the X-ray apparatus. After that, the citizen was invited to the examination office.
During the inspection in a suitcase of a citizen inside packets from “Tiffany Glucose” cookies were found in 10 cellophane sachets of various sizes with a total weight of 441 gr.
On the conclusion of the Judicial Examination Center of the Ministry of Justice, the total weight of the diamonds is 2171 carats, the cost is about 224 thousand manat.
