An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 occurred in the province of Kutahya in western Turkey.
This was reported on the website of the Turkish Emergency Prevention and Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) on Thursday, October 9.
The tremors were recorded at 02:54 local time time.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Simav region. The source was located at a depth of 12.1 kilometers.
Kutahya Governor Musa Ishin reported on his page on the social network of the American company X that the earthquake occurred in the area of the village of Maden.
“According to the results of an on-site inspection, no negative consequences have been recorded at the moment. I hope this will not happen again. May the Almighty protect our country,” noted the head of the region.
