An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred in Sichuan province in southwest China. This is stated in a statement from the China Seismological Center.

Tremors were observed around noon in Shinlun County, Gardze Tibet Autonomous Region.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km.
