As reported by the United States Geological Institute (USGS), tremors were recorded at 08:38 local time in an area located approximately 162 km west of the island.
According to the agency, after After the main earthquake of magnitude 6.5, two more tremors of magnitude 6.0 and 5.4 occurred in the area.
It is noted that the earthquake was felt on other islands of the eastern Caribbean, but there were no reports of casualties or damage.
