In Buenos Aires, the World Tango Championship began. According to the organizers, in competition, which will be held in formats online and offline, more than 400 pairs of 25 countries will take part.
On the first day of the championship in the cultural center of USina Del Arte in Buenos Aires, a qualifying round was launched in the Salon Tango category, which will end on Sunday. For a place in the next stage, not only the couples speaking on the stage of the center, but also dancers who could not come to Argentina, whose borders are closed for foreigners, and sent a video of their speech.
The championship final will take place on September 25 and will be held open-air on the background of the main attractions of Buenos Aires – Obelisk.
The Tango World Cup traditionally takes place in two categories. The salon tango is a classic style for which slow and measured movements are characterized, including all the main steps and dance figures. Stage Tango is a pre-prepared spectacular number with acrobatic movements.
