Ankara And Washington Have Played For Peaceful Future Of Syria Without Terrorism

Türkiye and the United States share a single vision by Syria, capable of ensuring internal security and stability and maintain good neighborly relations in the region.

This is stated in a joint statement by Turkey and the United States regarding the results of a meeting of the Turkish-American working group in Syria.

Türkiye and the United States intend to deepen cooperation and coordination in the field of ensuring stability and security in Syria in accordance with the framework established by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump, the statement said.

The statement emphasizes that the United States adopted the Turkish delegation in Washington as part of the new round of meetings of the Syria working group. It is indicated that the interdepartmental delegations of the two countries were headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey NUH Yilmaz and the deputy Secretary of State City Secretary of the United States Christopher Landau.

The meeting was also attended by Turkey ambassador to Washington Sedat ONAL and US Ambassador to Ankara Thomas Joseph Barrak, follows from the text.

The delegations discussed general priorities against Syria, including the lifting of sanctions in accordance with the Directive of President Trump, as well as a joint struggle with all forms of terrorism, the statement said.

Turkey and the United States confirmed the unity of the approaches on the construction of a stable Syria living in the world with itself and its neighbors, which, as emphasized in the statement, will open the way for the return of millions of displaced Syrians to their homeland.

The adherence to the principle of preserving the territorial integrity of Syria is also confirmed. The document notes that stable and unified Syria, which does not provide asylum with terrorist groups, will help strengthen regional security and prosperity.
