Ankara discusses options for exchange of prisoners and creation of gumoridor in Ukraine

The Turkish side continues to discuss the prospects and options for organizing the exchange of prisoners and the creation of the humanitarian corridor in the conflict zone in Ukraine at different levels.

This was stated by the official representative of Turkish President Ibrahim Kalyn, reports TRT.

“We are talking about this, we continue contacts at various levels. By the way, small exchanges are sometimes implemented. This initiative of our president (on creating a humanitarian corridor for the wounded – ed.) continues to be discussed. And we would like to get results,” said He.

In connection with the conflict in Ukraine, Kalyn noted that “although protection is a natural right” for Kyiv, fighting “gives rise to other issues: delaying the war, expanding its scale”.

“And the question is, is this a way to resolve the conflict. What is the result of the plan of what is happening? We must ask these questions,” he said.

The presidential representative recalled that from the very beginning of the conflict, Turkey “began to make serious efforts in order to put the parties at the negotiating table”.

“And we continue to do this. At different levels, on various issues. According to grain, on the exchange of prisoners, Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plants,” Kalyn noted.

According to him, in the course of contacts with the parties, Ankar calls and advises them to start negotiations. He expressed the hope that “war, in the context of the anniversary (February 24 – ed.), Will not be delayed even more,” and as a result a “fair solution” will be found.
