Turkey decisively condemns the US decision to expand the framework of the decision (of September 2020) on the abolition of the arms embargo in relation to the Greek community of Cyprus. This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, reports “Anadol”.
Ankara emphasized solidarity with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, noting that the actions of the American administration contradicts the principle of equality of Cyprus communities.
“Washington’s actions will tighten the uncompromising approaches of the Greek community of Cyprus and have a negative impact on the settlement of the Cyprus question as a whole. The Island will begin, which will hit the stability and world in the entire eastern Mediterranean,” the statement said.
In Ankara, Washington called on to reconsider the decisions and adhere to a balanced Cyprus policy.
