The Main Directorate for Combating Corrussion at the General Prosecutor of Azerbaijan opened a criminal case on the relevant articles of the Criminal Code in connection with the illegal actions of the Chairman of the Keyivendi Municipality of the Ismaillinsky district of Akif Balamamed Oglu Damirov, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
During the operational activities of Damirov, Damirov was detained when obtaining a major bribe from the person who turned to him for help on the illegal transportation of the upper fertile soil layer from the forest area.
Based on the evidence collected on April 17, 2021, Damirov was charged under articles 178.2.3, 178.2.4, 32.4, 312.1 of the Criminal Code. The court elected a measure of preventiveness in the form of arrest.
Investigative activities on the case continue.
