One officer of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan died as a result of an attack by members of a criminal group on a column of employees of the Anti-Terrorism Unit of the State Committee in the Rushan district of the Goro-Badakhshansky Autonomous Region (GBAO) of the republic, TASS reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
“Organized criminal groups of the Rushan district of the GBAO, headed and sponsored by international extremist and terrorist organizations in order to prevent state security, undermine the basics of the constitutional system, prevent the activities of law enforcement agencies, intimidation of the population with the use of weapons and ammunition, attacked the column Tajikistan. One officer died, 13 military personnel were seriously injured, ”the department said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan announced the beginning of an anti -terrorist operation against an organized criminal group that blocked the Dushanbe road – Kulma, which connects the mountain -Badakhshan autonomous region with China.
