Arab tribes in the Southern Province of Syrian Suwrid expressed support for the efforts of the Damascus government to achieve a ceasefire in the region, but stipulated the “protection of their honor and security.”
According to Syria TV, representatives of several Arab tribes met with government officials in the southern city of Daraa.
During the meeting, officials reported that the government should force the weapon in Suwrid, and representatives of the tribes expressed their support “provided that their honor and safety will be protected.” They confirmed their support for the initiative of the Damascus administration.
The representatives of the tribes emphasized that the purpose of the clashes is not the Druze themselves, but those who attack them, and explained the escalation of clashes by the cooperation of some Druzhsky groups with foreign powers.
On the morning of July 19, Syria President announced a comprehensive ceasefire throughout the country and demanded that all sides in the Suwage area stop the clash.
