Argentina: protesters threw stones at president’s car

The protesters threw stones at the car in which the President of Argentina Alberto Fernandez was during a trip to the province of Chubut. This was announced on Saturday by the Todo Noticias TV channel.

The footage shown on the air shows how the protesters surrounded the minibus in which Fernandez sat. The demonstrators knocked on the car and shouted, and several people threw stones at the car and broke one of the windows. According to the TV channel, no one was injured as a result of the incident.

Those gathered protested against a large mining project, which is being promoted by the governor of Chubut, Mariano Arsioni.

The Argentine President arrived in Chubut to visit the areas affected by the fires.
