Armenia: transcripts of Security Council with statements of Ex-Head of General Staff in Karabakh were declassified

The press service of the Armenian Security Council has declassified and published excerpts from the transcripts of meetings, which confirm the words of Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan that the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Onyk Gasparyan at the end of September last year did not advise him to stop fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh , RIA Novosti reports.

“In response to the statement of the former chief of the General Staff Armenian Armenia, Gasparyan dated November 17, 2020, the Office of the Security Council considers it necessary to make explanations about the statements contained in this statement and publish declassified documents,” the press service statements say.

The site also posted scanned sheets of three documents, where Gasparyan’s replicas are given. According to these transcripts, the head of the General Staff, September 3020, said that “the situation in the tactical plan has not changed” and that the troops continue to perform their task.

At the end of last year, Gasparyan stated that even at the beginning of hostilities in the conflict zone in Karabakh, Pashinian was advised to stop them. However, the prime minister refutes this, arguing that the head of the General Staff reported the Soviest about the readiness of the army to resist the enemy. In turn, Gasparyan accused the chapter of the Cabinet in the “distortion of reality using power levers.”
