The State Security Service of Azerbaijan (SGB) announced the arrest of two citizens who collaborated with the special services of Armenia.
“As a result of the measures taken, Rashard Akhmedov was detained and prosecuted, suspected of treason and planning of terrorist and subsidiary actions against Azerbaijan,” the SGB said in a statement of the SGB.
According to the agency, Akhmedov lived in the territory of the third country and carried out tasks of the special services of Armenia.
To complete the tasks of the special services of Armenia, Akhmedov was attracted by Rovshan Amirov and a number of other persons who prepared video materials with attacks on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and posted in the YouTube video hosting and social networks.
During the investigative measures, it was found that Akhmedov, on the instructions of the special services of Armenia, also carried out other subversive activities against Azerbaijan.
SGB notes that a preventive measure in the form of arrest was applied to Akhmedov and Amirov.
Akhmedov is accused of state -made, the preparation of a terrorist attack, a crime against state power on the instructions of foreign structures, and the Amirov – in the Stateismman and a crime against state power on the instructions of foreign structures.
The SGB emphasized that complex measures aimed at preventing intelligence and subsidiary activities of foreign special services do not stop.
