Armenians demands to introduce French troops in Karabakh

On the eve of Yerevan, Armenian refugees from Karabakh staged a protest in front of the buildings of the embassies of Russia and France, demanding “ensure the safety” of Armenians living in the territories of Azerbaijan, currently under the control of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

The participants of the action intend to repeat the same requirement at the beginning of the next week to the US Embassy and the UN office in Yerevan.

During the action held at the Embassy of the Russian Federation, its participants turned to Russia with the demand to “reliably fulfill” the peacekeeping mission assigned to it in Karabakh.

According to the Armenian media reports, the participants of the action gathered in front of the Building of the French Embassy, called for this country to introduce a peacekeeping contingent of troops in Karabakh.

Levon Irian, who fled from the Harrible to Armenia and currently leading the public organization “in the name of the Hadrut”, said that the Armenian refugees intend to organize a sedentary strike that will continue until France fulfills their requirements.

Another participant in the action, Ashot Harutyunyan, who illegally settled in Shusha and fled to Armenia in the fall of 2020, said that their demand for France, as the co -chair of the Minsk group, involves the introduction of peacekeepers into the lachins “to maintain a connection between Armenia and Karabakh” .

One of the employees of the embassy, who accepted a written petition from them, came to the participants of the action.

In response to the requirement of protesters for a meeting with the Ambassador of France, the employee said that he is currently on vacation.

Despite the fact that not citizens of Armenia participated in the protest, but the Armenian refugees from Karabakh, the essence of their demands, according to observers, confirms the discontent of the official Yerevan by the actions of Russian peacekeeping forces, which the day before was sharply criticized by Nikol Pashinyan.

In particular, the Prime Minister of Armenia accused the Russian peacekeepers of not interfering with the actions of the Azerbaijani army, which established control over the villages of Kekhnya Tagarr and Chaiglagal, who were included in the administrative territory of the Khojavensky district in December 2020, as well as over The village of Farrukh, included in March 2022 in the Khojalinsky Administrative District.

In addition, Pashinyan accused the Russians of inaction against the backdrop of recent blows inflicted by the Army of Azerbaijan on the positions of illegal Armenian armed groups in the cancer of the counter -terrorist operation “Retribution”, and proposed to launch “additional mechanisms” to ensure the safety of Armenians Karabakh.

At the same time, Pashinyan did not specify what he meant by “additional international mechanisms” and what steps in this direction Armenia intends to take.

Commenting on the criticism of Nikola Pashinyan, the Kremlin reminded of the presence of tripartite documents, which are the starting point of the actions of the peacekeeping contingent of Russia in Karabakh, as well as the need to strictly fulfill the obligations taken by the subclinices.
