The statement published by the Official Lebanese Agency of NNA notes that during the action organized by Lebanese citizens of Armenian origin, 25 security officers were injured, two of whom were seriously injured.

The statement notes that security forces in accordance with “Article 1 of the Law on the Organization of Internal Security Forces” are responsible for the protection of diplomatic missions. The document calls for citizens to respect the law and act in the spirit of responsibility.

During the demonstration, which included violent and destructive actions, the demonstrators threw fireworks, stones, sticks, glass bottles and objects containing colored colors.

On Thursday evening in Beirut, a group of about 1,500 people of Armenian origin, protesting against the liberation of the occupied territories in Karabakh, tried to go to the embassy.

At the beginning of the street on which the embassy is located, the security forces set the barricade and did not miss the crowd belonging to the Armenian party Dashnak in Lebanon.

When the police did not allow demonstrators to go through the barricade, the protesters attacked the security forces. In response, the police used tear gas and waterlets to disperse the crowd.
