Astana considers Hanoi as one of the key partners in Southeast Asia. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Vietnam Bui Than Shonom.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, in Astana a meeting of Nurtleu was held with Bui Than Shona, who arrived in Kazakhstan as part of the state visit of the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Vietnamese cooperation in the political, economic, economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Nurtleu assured that Astana considers Hanoi as one of the key partners in Southeast Asia, with whom she is united by close friendships.
“We attach particular importance to the State Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Kazakhstan. The adoption of a historical joint statement on the establishment of strategic partnership is certainly marked by a new and important milestone in our bilateral relations,” said the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan.
He noted the commitment to reached agreements at the highest level and emphasized the importance of an ambitious goal of increasing bilateral trade up to $ 2 billion in the coming years. In this regard, it was proposed to create Kazakh-Vietnamese Strategic Council for a comprehensive coordination of the development of bilateral cooperation.
In turn, the Foreign Ministry Head of the Vietnam confirmed the readiness to further strengthen strategic partnership in the spirit of friendship and trust, and invited the Kazakh side to visit Hanoi with a business mission.
The ministers discussed the current international agenda and noted that Kazakhstan and Vietnam occupy similar positions on most regional and global issues, and also successfully interact within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, SBMDA and EAEU.
