At the Chkhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in the Indian city of Mumbai in the baggage of a passenger who arrived from Thailand, 95 exotic animals were discovered.
According to The Indian Express, a passenger who arrived from Bangkok to Mumbai was stopped at the airport and interrogated by customs officers.
In connection with the nervous behavior of the passenger during the interrogation, employees decided to watch his baggage.
As a result of the search,: two different types of tarantulas, 80 iguan (50 living and 30 dead), one Malay bear, two red -legged turtles, six flying proteins, two dead sunny birds of different species and two crested rice birds.
Customs officer said that these animals are dying and prohibited for trade, in connection with which they were confiscated, and the passenger was detained.
He also noted that the verification is being carried out for the possible involvement of the detainee in such crimes in the past, as well as the individuals of persons or groups involved in this attempt to smuggle.
