Atomic submarine in Britain “repaired” superglue

Bolts fixed by superglue found on the British atomic submarine after repair, the military department began the investigation.

This is reported by The Sun with reference to sources.

The article says that during the test on the Vanguard submarine they found a dumped hat of one of the bolts on the pipes with a cooling liquid for a nuclear reactor. Later it turned out that at least seven such bolts.

Presumably, the workers at the Plymut overdid it when tightening fasteners and tore off the bolts’ hats, but instead of drilling damaged bolts and replacing them with new ones, they simply put hats with superglings.

It is noted that the British Minister of Defense Ben Wallace, having learned about what happened, was furious, and the leadership of the contractor responsible for repairing the submarine could not explain to him how it happened.

Now the British Navy will conduct an investigation against workers who repaired Vanguard.

sources in the Navy said that “there were no problems with nuclear safety” and the reactor would not explode if the damage were not detected.

The publication recalls that Vanguard repair was started in 2015 and delayed by almost four years, exceeding the budget by 300 million pounds.
