Austria called on Russia to return to compliance with Treaty on offensive weapons

Austria’s foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs appealed to Russia with a call to return to compliance with the Treaty on Strategic offensive Weapons (DSNV).

This is stated in the statement posted on the page of the foreign policy on Twitter.

“The announcement of the DSNV made by Russia causes great regret. This is the last remaining bilateral agreement on the control of weapons between the United States and Russia, it is of great importance. We urge Russia to abandon the decision,” the text.

Speaking with a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow is suspending its participation in the DSNV, but does not come out of it. According to the head of state, before returning to the discussion of the continuation of work in accordance with this document, the Russian side must understand for which such countries of the North Atlantic Alliance as France and Great Britain claim, how their strategic will be taken into account Arsenals.
