The administration of US President Donald Trump is developing a new plan to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This statement was made by the American portal Axios with reference to unnamed Russian and American officials.
According to the publication of the portal, the Trump team has prepared a 28-point plan, similar to the Gaza initiative.
An American official, who wished to remain anonymous, said that allegedly the US President’s special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, developed a draft plan and discussed it in detail with the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). Kirill Dmitriev.
Sources claim that the 28-point plan consists of four main components: peace in Ukraine, security guarantees, security in Europe and future US relations with Russia and Ukraine.
The American official also said that the White House has already begun informing Ukrainian and European representatives about the new plan.
According to him, the document will be reviewed and adjusted depending on the responses of the parties, but “both sides should be practical and realistic.”
It is reported that a senior Russian official also gave a positive assessment of the plan.
The position of Ukraine and European countries on this plan is still unknown.
