Azerbaijan and Iraq discussed bilateral cooperation

Azerbaijan and Iraq discussed the prospects for cooperation in a number of areas during the meeting of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the two countries – Jayjun Bayramova and Foad Hussein in the framework of participation in the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya.

As reported by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Bayramov informed his Iraqi colleague on the long-term policies of Armenia aggression and its consequences, as well as about the response operation of Azerbaijan to the Armenian military provocation and exemption of territories. The Minister spoke about the situation on liberated lands and rehabilitating work there.

He also noted that historical, religious and cultural ties between the Azerbaijani and Iraqi peoples are the basis of sincere relations between the two countries.

Bayramov thanked the Iraqi side for supporting the fair position of Azerbaijan.

In turn, the Iraqi Foreign Minister noted the development of relations with Azerbaijan. According to him, Iraq, as a country suffering from the war, is well aware of its consequences and for this reason speaks for a peaceful settlement. In this regard, the Minister noted with satisfaction with appreciation between Azerbaijan and Armenia agreement on the cessation of hostilities.

Parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in the energy, humanitarian, educational, agricultural, tourist and other fields.
