Azerbaijan and Pakistan discussed bilateral connections

As part of an official visit to Pakistan, the Chairman of the Milli Majlis Sakhiba Gafarov met today with the President of this country Arif Alvi.

As reported by Haqqin.az in the Department of Public Relations and Press Milli Majlis, President Arif Alvi expressed satisfaction with the visit of the parliamentary delegation of Azerbaijan to Pakistan and asked to transfer his greetings to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Arif Alvi noted that the relationship between friendly, fraternal countries – Pakistan and Azerbaijan reached the degree of strategic alliance; Pakistan has not yet recognized Armenia as a state due to its aggressor policy towards Azerbaijan. Pakistan President congratulated Azerbaijan with the liberation of land, which were under Armenian occupation for almost 30 years. He noted that the restoration of the territorial integrity of the fraternal country was greeted in Pakistan with great joy. Pakistan has always supported and support Azerbaijan in his fair case, said the President of the country.

Speaker Milli Majlis Sahib Gafarov expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and good words to Azerbaijan. Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament handed over to the President of Pakistan Arif Alvey Greetings of President Ilham Aliyev.

Noting that this is her first official visit to Pakistan as a speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahib Gafarov expressed satisfaction with the meetings held during the visit. She stressed that, as noted by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, mutual support between Azerbaijan and Pakistan reflects the fraternal nature of cooperation between the countries.

According to Gafarov, along with Pa Ois, both countries are extremely efficiently cooperating within the framework of other international organizations. She noted the visit of President Pakistan to Azerbaijan in October 2019 within the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement and stressed that the documents signed between the two countries in various fields constitute the legal basis of relations. In this context, a joint declaration of strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, signed in Baku in 2015, has been of particular importance in 2015, said Speaker.

Speaker Milli Majlis said that there are ample opportunities for further deepening trade and economic relations of countries. She also noted special attention paid to the sustainable development of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. In this area, with the support of the first vice-president of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Alieva Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been implemented significant social and humanitarian projects, and for merits in this area, Mehriban Aliyev in 2015 was awarded the Hilal-E Pakistan Higher Order of the Hilal-E Pakistan of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
