Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has applied for the World Cup among players under 20 years old, which will be held in 2027. This was reported by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan.
The statement notes that the parties join the efforts “within the framework of active reforms in the field of football, the development of sports infrastructure and the growing international authority of the Turkic world,” and are ready to accept this prestigious tournament.
It is emphasized that Azerbaijan already has significant experience in organizing international tournaments: “We have many stadiums complies with international standards. In recent years, Azerbaijan has successfully hosted Euro-2020 matches, the UEFA Europa League final and the World Cup among girls under 17 years old. Representatives of FIFA and UEFA highly appreciated the level of organization of these prestigious tournaments in Baku”. – says in the message.
