In Baku, a meeting of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in an expanded composition.
After the negotiations were completed, the parties signed a joint declaration of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Vietnam.
“This is a very serious political document. In fact, this document displays Vietnamese-Azerbaijani ties to a higher level. I am sure that these high-level relations will play a crucial role for the future of bilateral cooperation,” the president of Azerbaijan at a joint press conference.
According to the head of state, the documents signed and we held in the energy sector give reason to say that in the near future we will expand our cooperation in this area.
“Today, this cooperation exists and is mainly carried out in the form of trade cooperation. However, issues of mutual investment were discussed. The issues of attracting investments of both Vietnamese companies in Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani oil company in Vietnam were discussed, and the corresponding structures were instructed to take specific steps on these issues,” said Aliyev.
The President said that the parties also exchanged views on the production of renewable types of energy.
“Signed contracts after five years will provide us with a new, clean energy with a capacity of 6500 megavatts, and we invited Vietnamese companies to invest. At the same time, I expressed the readiness of the Azerbaijani side to invest in renewable types of energy in Vietnam,” the president added.
Ilham Aliyev also noted a very great potential in the field of defense industry.
“We can stimulate mutual trade through the North -South and East – West transport corridors. I am sure that the visit will have very good results,” the head of state summed up.
