Azerbaijan celebrates Victory Day

In Azerbaijan on November 8, the third anniversary of Victory in the Patriotic War is celebrated.

On this day, the country celebrates Victory Day in a 44-day war that marked the restoration of the territorial integrity of the republic.

, from the very first hours of a successful counterattack, which began on September 27, the Azerbaijani army broke through the fortified defensive line of the Armed Forces of Armenia and liberated a number of occupied villages in the Fizulinsky and Dzhebrail regions of the republic, as well as strategic heights, including the peak of Murov in the Murovdag ridge.

All 44 days of the war, the Azerbaijani army did not stop the offensive, liberating the lands under the occupation of Armenia for decades.

On October 4, the city of Jebrail was liberated, and by October 9 the villages were de -composed in the Dzhebrail, Fizulskiyolsky, Tertersky, Khojavensky districts, including the village of Gadrut.

On October 17, the city of Fizuli was liberated from the occupation of Armenia, and a day later, on October 18, the flag of Azerbaijan was hoisted over the famous Khudaferin bridge.

By October 19-20, a number of settlements were disconed in the Dzhebrail, Fizulinsky, Khojavensky and Zangilan districts, including the city of Zangilan.

with the liberation of the village of AGBend of the Zangilan district, Azerbaijan, with the liberation of the village of Azerbaijan, ensured full control over the state border with Iran.

On October 21-26, 2020, settlements in Zangilan, Dzhebrail, Fizulinsky, Khojavensky, Gubadlinsky districts, and the city of Gubadly were liberated. This allowed the Azerbaijani army to take control of the main trunk road, which connected Armenia with the separatists in Karabakh.

On October 28-November 7, the villages were discovered in Zangilan, Fizulinsky, Dzhebrail, Gubadlinsky, Khojalinsky, Khojavender districts.

The historical Shushinsky operation completely broke the power of resistance and the moral spirit of the Armed Forces of Armenia, forcing Yerevan to surrender.

On November 9, the Azerbaijani army liberated a number of villages in Fizulinsky, Khojalinsky, Khojavender, Dzhebrail, Gubadlinsky, Zangilalan and Lachinsky districts.

From the beginning of the operation on September 27 to November 9, 2020, the Azerbaijani army freed 5 cities, 4 villages and over 286 villages from the Armenian occupation

On November 10, the President of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Russian President signed a statement of complete ceasefire and all military operations in Karabakh.

According to the statement, on November 20, the Agdam district was returned to Azerbaijan – thereby, 73 percent of the district, including the city of Agdam,

were released from the occupation.

On November 25, the Kyalbadzharsky district was returned to Azerbaijan – 147 settlements were liberated from the occupation, including the city of Kyalbajar.
