Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expressed concern about the detention of eco -activist Greta Tunberg during a peaceful demonstration in The Hague.
This is stated in the statement of the Azerbaijani foreign policy.
“As the country presiding in COP29, we urge the Netherlands authorities to respect the freedom of expression of protesters against climate change and free the detainees,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier, Swedish eco -activist Greta Tunberg was detained during the campaign in the Hague.
Tunberg and other eco -activists blocked the large A12 highway in protest against the allocation of subsidies for the purchase of fossil fuel.
