Azerbaijan Condemned Terrorist Attack In Church In Damascus

Azerbaijan resolutely condemns a terrorist act committed on June 22 in the Church of St. Ilya in Damascus. This is stated in the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, published on the social network X.

“We decisively condemn the terrifying terrorist attack on the Church of St. Ilya in Damascus, Syria. We express the deepest condolences to the families of the dead and all those who have suffered from this meaningless act of violence. We are in solidarity with the government and people of Syria, calling for unity in the fight against extremism,” the message was indicated in the message.

The attack in Damascus

As a result of the explosion in the church in the capital of Syria Damascus, 20 people were killed, another 52 were injured.

The explosion occurred in the church of Marie Elias in the Daveul region east of Damascus.

SANA’s official news agency, citing the country’s Ministry of Health, reported that the cause of the explosion was a terrorist attack.

The explosion caused great damage to the church building.

In connection with the incident, an investigation has begun.
