Azerbaijan Foreign Minister met with General Secretary of OTG

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov met on February 6 with the general secretary of the Turkic states (OTG) Kubanychbek Omuraliev, who is on a visit to the country to observe the extraordinary elections of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.

The meeting discussed the current agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and OTG, as well as preparations for the upcoming presidential election in our country.

Jaykhun Bayramov emphasized that the extraordinary presidential elections, for the first time in the history of independence of Azerbaijan coincided with the period of complete restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty, are of symbolic importance for the country.

Speaking about the preparatory work done on the organization of the electoral process, the minister noted that the active participation of regional and international organizations, including OTG as observers, deserves approval in terms of tracking transparency of the process.

The Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev expressed satisfaction by the fact that his current visit to Azerbaijan coincided with the period of historical extraordinary presidential elections, and expressed confidence that the results of the upcoming elections would serve as the development and prosperity of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, an exchange of views on other issues representing mutual interest was also held.
