Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey discussed further cooperation in Baku – Tbilisi – Kars

Delegation led by the Minister of Transport, Communication and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev is a visit to Turkey in order to participate in the XII International Transport and Communications Council.

The main topic of discussion at the event is the development of transport and communication systems in the conditions of postpandemia COVID-19, digitalization extension.

The meeting discussed issues of investment in transport and communications to support global development, efficient use of transport and logistics systems through digitalization, creating a stable transport system and improving the relevant regulatory framework.

In addition, within the framework of the XII International Council for Transport and Communications, a four-sided meeting of ministers on the Trans-Caspian International Transportation Corrigor between Turkey, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan was held.

At the meeting, further directions of cooperation in the railway project Baku – Tbilisi – Kars (BTK) were discussed. Following the meeting between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, a tripartite protocol of the meeting of the Ministers on the Labor Road of BTK was signed. The parties that signed the Protocol gave an assessment of the project activities, stated the need to reduce the time required by carriers for transit of goods on BTK, stressed the need to increase the efficiency of the railway.
