The 3rd tour of the youthful chess Olympiad was played in Nakhchivan.
The first team of Azerbaijan played today with Cuba and won with a score of 2.5: 1.5. Our main team has 6 out of 6 possible points, and it takes 1st place, ahead of Kazakhstan and Turkey in terms of additional indicators.
Azerbaijan-2 beat Latvia (2.5: 1.5) and with 4 points takes the 12th position.
The Sumgait team is pleasantly surprising for the second day in a row. After yesterday, a draw with Canada today Zeynab Mammadjarova’s wards successfully played with another more rating opponent: the Sumgaiters beat England – 2.5: 1.5. With 3 points, Sumgait takes 20th place among 34 teams
In three other matches with the participation of Azerbaijani groups, no short results were recorded 2: 2. Thus ended the confrontations of Azerbaijan -3 – South Africa -3, Azerbaijan -4 – Mongolia and Nakhchyan – Moldova.
The Olympiad will consist of 9 rounds and will end on October 10th.
