At the European Kaaziantep European Championships in Kumite team competitions, the Azerbaijani team became the owner of silver medals.
In the final, Rafael Agayev and Ko gave the French – 1: 3. Before that, our team defeated Kosovo, Portugal and Greece.
Azerbaijani team won bronze. Having ahead of Montenegro, France and Bosnia at the group stage and losing only to Turkey, our team received the right to compete in 3rd place. Here Azerbaijani karatists defeated Croatia.
In individual competitions, Azerbaijan performed unsuccessfully. The winners of the Olympic Games Rafael Agayev and Irina Zaretskaya were left without medals. Only Medina Sadykhova (55 kg) was awarded bronze.
