Azerbaijan President Held Number Of Meetings At UN Headquarters In New York

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, at the UN headquarters in New York, met with Finland President Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister Greece Kiriakos Mitsikisis, Iraqi President Abdel Latif Dzhamal Rashid, Secretary of the Council of Europe Alena Bersei and President William Uyillem Samoeyyy Ruto.

The President of Finland congratulated the head of Azerbaijan on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the historical successes achieved in Washington, emphasizing that Finland always supports the world in the region. Ilham Aliyev noted that it was during the period of the chairmanship of Finland in the OSCE that it was decided to stop the activities of the Minsk group, and added that Azerbaijan and Armenia entered the world. President Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan is the initiator of a peaceful agenda in the region, noted the significance of the Washington meeting, as well as the important role of US President Donald Trump. The importance of the agreement on the creation of an unhindered transport corridor between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchyansky Autonomous Republic was emphasized. The parties also discussed the development of cooperation in the energy, economic, trade and tourism spheres.

During the meeting with Iraq President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid, congratulations were also made in connection with the promotion of a peaceful agenda and the paraffin in Washington, an agreement on the normalization of relations. The issues of cooperation in the energy, tourism and other areas were discussed, as well as interaction in international organizations.

General Secretary of the Council of Europe, Alain Bersse, congratulated the head of state with achieved successes. During the conversation, the termination of the Minsk OSCE group was discussed, the paraffin of the agreement on the normalization of relations and the significance of the Washington Declaration. It was emphasized that the European Council supports the regional peaceful agenda. At the meeting, an exchange of views on cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe was held.

, at a meeting with President Kenya, William Samoye Ruto, the parties expressed satisfaction of the development of relations between the two countries. It was noted that the opening of the Azerbaijan Embassy in Kenya gave impetus to the development of ties. An exchange of views was held on the expansion of cooperation in energy, agricultural, industrial and other areas, as well as interaction in international organizations.
