Azerbaijan is taking part in the preparation of key final documents of the COP30 climate conference. At the request of Brazil, the country was entrusted with the coordination of the Global Review Report on the implementation of the Paris Agreement (Global Stocktake – GST).
According to the Azerbaijani media, after the transfer of the chairmanship by Brazil, Azerbaijan continues to actively work in the negotiation process on the climate platform.
It is noted that Baku and Brazil jointly prepared the “Road Map from Baku to Belem”, which provides for an increase in global climate finance to 1.3 trillion dollars. The document was presented at COP30 and received positive feedback.
In addition, Azerbaijan and Norway are entrusted with holding consultations on two key decisions of COP30, including the choice of the host country for COP31.
Negotiations on behalf of COP30 Chairman Andre Correa do Lago are led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev and Norwegian Minister of Climate and Ecology Andreas Bjelland Eriksen.
