Public television and radio of Azerbaijan received more than 200 applications from the authors of songs and composers who want their composition to sound at Eurovision 2023. But, according to the new head of the Azerbaijan delegation, Vasif Mammadov, most of them came from foreign composers and writers.
Mammadov would like changes this year. “Our goal and desire is to present the music of local composers. Based on the selection process, if the local and foreign song correspond to the same criteria, we prefer the local song. That is, we really want the music of Azerbaijani composers. that we also have talented composers. “
According to Mammadov, a representative of Azerbaijan at Eurovision in Liverpool and a competitive song will be selected closer to the end of January.
