Azerbaijan repatriated 418 citizens from Iraq and Syria

The Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan reported the repatriation in 2022 from Iraq and Syria of 66 AR citizens, said the chairman of the board of the Agency of Vugar Beibutov at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to him, 64 people are placed in institutions under the subordination of the agency.

“Since 2018, 418 people have been repatriated from the above countries to Azerbaijan,” Beibutov said.

He also noted that 252 graduates of orphanages who have lost both parents are still provided with housing.

In addition, according to Beibutov, this year more than 4.3 thousand families of the Shahids and Disabled War were provided with apartments and private houses.

“In general, 13.1 thousand people are provided with housing,” the head of the agency said.

Beibutov also noted that from November 1, 2019, 355 children were transferred to the adoption, of which 207 – this year.

“Work is in parallel on the formation of an institute of a foster family in the country,” he said.
