Azerbaijan: size of targeted social assistance is increasing

The size of targeted social assistance in Azerbaijan will grow by 36 percent, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population said.

It is reported that the threshold of a need for a need for 2023 is increased by 23 percent compared to last year and set in the amount of 246 manat, which thus involves an increase in the size of targeted social assistance. If the average monthly income of the family is below the amount of the criterion of need for all family members, then the family is assigned to help equal to this difference. Thus, an increase in the criterion of needing leads to an increase in targeted assistance to families with a low level of income.

It is expected that the average monthly targeted social assistance for the family this year will increase by 36 percent compared to the corresponding indicator of 2022 and will be approximately 535 manat.
