Azerbaijan started a chess Olympiad with Victory over Sweden

Today, Azerbaijani national chess team started a performance on the online Olympiad, organized FIDE.

Our team plays in the top division, where 40 teams are divided into four groups. Azerbaijan in the group “B” together with India, Hungary, France, Slovenia, Moldova, Belarus, China (Shenzhen city team), Sweden and Egypt.

Each team consists of six players. The team should have at least two chess players, at least one chess player at the age of 20 and younger, as well as at least one chess player with the same age restrictions.

The composition of the Azerbaijani national team includes Teymur Rajabov, Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Gunay Mamedzade, Gulnar Mamedov, Vugar Asadly, Hana Balajaeva, and Reservists Rauf Mamedov, Gadir Huseynov, Türkyan Mammadyarova, Ulvia Fatalieva, Magomed Muradla and Govhar Bedullayev.

Time control – 15 minutes plus 5 seconds for each moved.

In the first match against Sweden for the national team of Azerbaijan, Rajabov, Mamedov, Asadli, Mamedzade, Huseynov and Beidullayev played. Our team won with a score of 5.5: 1.5. In a draw, only Gadir Huseynov played. In the rest of the parties, our chess players and chess players won.

In the 2nd round, Azerbaijan plays in these minutes with the Chinese, which in the 1st round lost with a score of 2: 4 Hungary. It is with the Hungarians that our team will hold a third match today.

According to the results of a single-circuit tournament, which will end on September 10, two best teams from four groups will be released in the quarterfinals. Playoffs starts the 13th.
