On the European Championships ending in the Croatian Railway among boxers, Azerbaijani athletes won four medals – gold, silver and two bronze.
Nijat Huseynov rose to the highest level of the podium. In the weight category up to 51 kg, he confidently won the Final of Georgian Lexo Hasaya – 5: 0 (30:28, 29:28, 30:27, 29:28 29:27).
On the way to the final of Nijat, Irish Antonio Peivan and Turk Mehmethan Chinara won.
Before that, Ruslan Gadirov (54 kg) became a silver medalist, and Jalal Gurbanov (63.5 kg) and Nabi of Iskenderov (67 kg) – bronze. Azerbaijan in Croatia was represented by seven boxers.
Gold, silver and two bronze is the repetition of the record achieved by the Azerbaijani national team at the U-22 European Championships. Ten years ago, our team has achieved the same result on the euro in Russia.
