The national team of boxers up to 22 years old continues to delight with their victories. If a record for the number of medals was repeated at the European Championships in Croatian Porec, when 4 members of the national team took place in the semifinals, then another successful series was previously continued, the site of the Boxing Federation of Azerbaijan reports.
So, the boxers Nijat Huseynov (51 kg) and Ruslan Gadirov (54 kg) ended their semi-final battles and reached the final. Thanks to a successful performance, they have become one step closer to the championship.
The next battle will be of particular importance for both representatives of Azerbaijan. If both Huseynov and Gadirov will complete their speeches to the victory, then in the asset of the country – for the first time in history – there will be 2 gold medals at the European U-22 Championship.
Azerbaijani team, by the way, has already won two bronze medals. Jalal Gurbanov (63.5 kg) and Nabi Schedule (67 kg) occupied 3rd place.
The final fights at the European Championship in Porec will be held on March 23. On this day, Nijat Huseynov will fight with Georgian Lexo Hasaya, and Ruslan Gadirov – with the Turk of the Samayet Gyumyush.
