Azerbaijani chess player won FIDE superfinal

The international federation of Chess held an online superfinal FIDID on rapidis among chess players from 10 to 18 years, in which five chess players from Azerbaijan took part.

The tournament was played by a circular system in five different age groups – up to 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years. Each category was six chess players and chess players. The participants were selected as follows: Three made their way through the World Cup-2021, two – through the Grand Prix series, one – through the FIDE rating. Competition passed in two circles.

Govhar is a member of the women’s national team of Azerbaijan, the European champion up to 14 years old, the 2019 Olympic champion among young men (up to 16 years).

In the same category, another representative of Azerbaijan Melk Ismail ranked 3rd. Khazar Babazaday in category up to 16 years old took 3rd place.
