The State Security Service (SGB) continues comprehensive counterintelligence measures aimed at identifying and preventing threats aimed at the interests of the national security of Azerbaijan, intelligence and subversive activities of foreign special services. It is reported by SGB.
On suspicion of state treason, a criminal case was initiated against a citizen of Azerbaijan Mamedov Emil Ramiz Oglu, born in 1981.
In the course of the investigations conducted, it was established that in exchange for material interest, Emil Mamedov met with employees of the Armenian special services in the third country in order to assist them in fulfilling the instructions of representatives of foreign special services. By turning on the side of the enemy to the detriment of sovereignty, territorial integrity, state security and the defense capability of Azerbaijan, received instructions on collecting information, which can be used to the detriment of state security of Azerbaijan. Revealed suspicions in secret links with representatives of the special services of Armenia and compliance with them prescribed conspiracy rules.
Emil Mamedov is brought to justice under Article 274 (state treason) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan and arrested by a court decision.
