On Monday, December 8, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
Noting that relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have a long history, Aliyev said that the fact that the people of the two countries have been living together for centuries attaches special importance to relations.
Expressing satisfaction with the intensification of ties recently, the head of state emphasized that the visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Azerbaijan, as well as mutual visits of other high-ranking officials contributed to further expansion cooperation.
President Ilham Aliyev said that the bilateral agenda is broad and covers many areas, there are specific roadmaps for all issues.
Noting that the intergovernmental commission is operating very successfully, the head of state in this context touched upon cooperation in economic, trade, transport, energy and other fields.
The President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that the visit of the Iranian delegation will be successful and productive.
Seyed Abbas Araqchi, in turn, noted that Azerbaijani-Iranian ties have deep roots and touched upon the importance of further deepening our relations.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on issues of mutual interest.
