Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken

On February 17, on the sidelines of the 60th Munich Conference, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken took place.

Anthony Blinken noted the importance of bilateral ties with Azerbaijan. The Secretary of State added that there are good opportunities for further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the United States and Azerbaijan.

Ilham Aliyev, in turn, said that Azerbaijan highly appreciates a bilateral agenda with the United States. The head of state pointed out favorable opportunities for expanding partnerships between countries.

US Secretary of State conveyed congratulations on the occasion of SOR29 in Azerbaijan, noted that the United States is also ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan as part of the CRO and the support of our country in this matter.

Having expressed gratitude for congratulations, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that SOR29 opens up excellent opportunities to expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and the USA and joint work in this direction.

Aliyev said that Azerbaijan supports the normalization of relations and a peaceful agenda with Armenia. He announced a bilateral meeting held with the Prime Minister of Armenia as part of the Munich Security Conference, and regarded a positive step to achieve agreements on negotiations on a peace agreement and meetings on division of borders.

Having emphasized that the world in the region has already established, the president noted that Azerbaijani-American bilateral relations should develop by themselves outside the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

During the conversation, an exchange of views on regional relations, issues of transport, medium corridor, as well as on other issues representing mutual interest, was held.
